Associate professor at the Department of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

 

He is a civil engineer and holds a master’s degree in Engineering Sciences from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He received his PhD in Philosophy from Northwestern University.

 

RESEARCH AREAS

 

His research focuses on water quality, metals in water and soil, contaminated water treatment systems, environmental geochemistry, environmental biotechnology, water quality assessment and monitoring, environmental impact and management. He also seeks to develop cutting-edge scientific research that feeds into public policy development, decision-making, and technology development to address today’s challenges of sustainability, resilience and equity.
