He is a geographer and holds a master’s degree in Urban Development from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He received his PhD in Architecture and Urban Studies from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

He specializes in areas related to urban growth and socio-spatial transformations in Chilean cities.
