Assistant Professor at the Institute of Urban and Territorial Studies at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. He has published, presented, and won awards for his work in Chile, the United States, and Europe. He is a co-editor of the books Companion to Urban and Regional Studies (Wiley-Blackwell, 2021) and Marginalidad Urbana y Efectos Institucionales(RIL, 2021).
He is an Architect from the University of Chile, holds a Master’s in Urban Planning, and a Ph.D. in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
RESEARCH AREAS
He is specialized in residential segregation, housing policies, neighborhood effects, urban marginality, self-managed housing, urban sociology, and comparative studies.
He is a researcher in Fondecyt Regular Project 1241415 “Housing policies and citizenship facing the housing crisis: Institutional mechanisms and implementation practices in the creation of subjectivity among middle and lower classes”(2024–2028) and the Principal Investigator in the Anillos Research Project in Social Sciences ATE230051 “Housing in the context of climate change: the dimensions of apolitical, territorial, and environmental crisis” (2024–2027).
