Associate Professor at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, University of Concepción.

 

He is an environmental biologist from Universidad de Chile, holds a master’s degree in Environmental Management and Territorial Planning from the University of Barcelona and received his PhD in Geography from Universitat de Barcelona.

 

RESEARCH AREAS

 

He specializes in the environmental evaluation and management of urban and peri-urban landscapes using spatial analysis tools, remote sensing, and the management of ecosystem services provided by natural landscape structures such as plazas and parks. Recently, he has focused on the consequences of land use and land cover changes, and the role of vegetation in improving people’s well-being.

 

He is the Principal Investigator of FONDECYT Regular 1231859 “Social and Ecological Valuation of Local Ecosystem Services (VESSEL 2.0): Towards a Systemic Understanding of Nature in the City to Contribute to Urban Planning”(2023–2026).
