Public Policy Instruments

The Public Policy  Instruments area was established to strengthen the impact of our studies on urban regulations and policies. Its purpose is to connect scientific research with legislative and policy-making processes while promoting informed and evidence-based decision-making.

To achieve its goal, the Public Policy Instruments area generates technical inputs and follows up on legislative initiatives to translate scientific knowledge into public norms, regulations, and strategies. It fosters collaborative work between researchers, decision-makers, and civil society, providing technical support and data to create valuable instruments that strengthen urban sustainability.

At the same time, this work connects researchers with strategic spaces to make an impact on the public agenda, facilitating their participation and the dissemination of knowledge.

Lines of Action:

✅ Legislative Analysis and Follow-Up: Monitoring and studying regulatory initiatives related to sustainable urban development.

✅ Liaison with Legislative and Governmental Actors: Creating spaces for dialogue and collaboration with public agencies, parliamentarians, and experts.

✅ Production of Reports and Public Policy Documents: Preparing technical inputs to support the formulation and evaluation of regulations.

✅ Promotion of Citizen Participation in Urban Policies: Creating opportunities to strengthen the influence of civil society in legislative decisions.
