Infographics for community organization
This arises as a contribution to the community of Bajos de Mena (Puente Alto, Metropolitan Region) during the 2020 Covid 19 lockdowns. The infographics seek to provide information on forms of community organization that facilitate coexistence and contribute to well-being during the pandemic.
Accessibility Reports in the Metropolitan Area if Concepción and Chillán-Chillán Viejo: With the aim of contributing to decision-makers, the Urban Labs Programme and the Observatory measured 20-minute walk accessibility to health facilities (CESFAM, CECOF, SAPU, USAF), basic supplies (supermarkets, free fairs and stores), schools and cash machines, based on data on population density, income distribution, density of inhabitants per hectare, distribution of older adults and children and adolescents, by census block.
Socio-Environmental Vulnerability to Coronavirus in Chile Platform
This tool, developed through the collaborative and interdisciplinary work of Centre for Sustainable Urban Development (CEDEUS), presents multiple dimensions of vulnerability to the COVID-19 pandemic at the community level from a dynamic and territorial perspective.
The dimensions are: health vulnerability, socio-economic vulnerability, housing vulnerability, vulnerability in compliance with quarantine isolation and environmental vulnerability. For each dimension, indicators generated from publicly available databases are presented and displayed on maps that show the information at the community level for the whole country. This platform is a tool that seeks to contribute to the visualisation of the vulnerability of the population and its territorial distribution.
My Neighbourhood as a Learning Experience Educational Material
My neighbourhood as a learning experience is a collaborative tool generated together with Secondary Education teachers to continue the teaching process in the COVID19 context, marked by the implementation of online classes and hindered by the digital gap, which translates into a low connection of students to classes.
The proposal consists of a Remote Learning Plan (PAR), with interdisciplinary and situated learning activities, incorporating the neighbourhood as a space to generate learning, taking advantage of the multiple connections that the city has with; music, historical memory, senses, geography and written and oral communication, allowing the students’ experience to be linked to the immediate environment. This proposal was jointly developed by teachers from the José Manuel Balmaceda Secondary School in the Independencia Municipality (RM) and professionals from CEDEUS’ Active Citizenship Programme.
